Are we Homer Simpsons?

“Once we know that people are human and have some Homer Simpson in them, then there’s a lot that can be done to manipulate them.” – Progressive Regulatory Czar, Cass Sunstein

(Regarding the fairness doctrine) “A system of limitless individual choices, with respect to communications, is not necessarily in the interest of citizenship and self-government.”
“Animals should be permitted to bring suit, with human beings as their representatives…”
“We ought to ban hunting, I suggest, if there isn’t a purpose other than sport and fun. That should be against the law. It’s time now.”

(On the Constitution from Glenn Beck program) “ Let me explain the division among the conservative legal thinkers. Some conservative legal things like Justice Scalia and Justice Thomas is that the Constitution means what it originally meant. That means that we should understand the document by going through a sort of time machine and capturing the public understanding of the public that ratified the document a century or more than a century ago. So, that is a very distinctive approach which would involve quite radical changes in our existing Constitutional understanding and Justice Thomas is entirely clear on that.”

“Almost all gun control legislation is constitutionally fine. And if the court is right, then fundamentalism does not justify the view that the Second Amendment protects an individual right to bear arms. ”  Cass Sunstein writing in his book “Radicals in Robes”

(Who does this sound like?)

“Much of the time,  the United States seems to have embraced a confused and pernicious form of individualism,  this approach endorses rights of private property and freedom of contract,  and respects political liberty,  but claims to distrust “government intervention”  and insists that people must fend for themselves.  This form of so-called individualism, is incoherent; a tangle of confusions.”  Cass R. Sunstein the Second Bill of Rights  FDR’s Unfinished Revolution, and Why we need it more than ever, Basic  Books New York 2004 P. 4

Meet our Regulatory Czar;  Cass Sunstein.  Seems as though he is another one of the arrogant elitists that surround our President.

Are we really like Homer? Can we be manipulated that easily?   I realize that we have been dumbed down through our schools and the media,  but we are not actually like Homer are we?  Do we really need a nanny state to take care of us and tell us what to eat…what to buy……how to teach our children…….how to care for our children….what kinds of light bulbs to use?  I’m so tired of their pompous highfalutin attitudes.  Makes me quite ill.  Lord….I know we are sheep but not Homer’s!!!!! Let’s get all of the elitists out in November, shall we?

Glenn Beck on Sunstein: “He’s Obama’s regulatory “czar.” He is the author of the book “Nudge.” “Nudge” is basically a book that looks at Americans as a bunch of lab rats. And he knows all the tricks and all the levers to make them behave the way he wants them to. Just a little nudge here and little nudge there.”
